Located just outside the bounds of Paris, the Cathedral basillica of saint denis is one of the world's most astounding sites of gothic architecture and French royal history, yet often gets overlooked by tourists. It is thought to be the earliest advanced example of gothic-style architectureand it was built between 1140 and 1144.

Kia Ora Vallanico,
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome Cathedral you have chosen. Most students that have completed this activity have chosen New Zealand Cathedrals, so it is awesome to read about one in Paris. I especially like your descriptive words - just ensure you are writing all of the sentences yourself so we can give you full points for the activities!
Is Paris somewhere you'd like to go one day? I am very enthusiastic about visiting Greece because of the beautiful views and architecture. I have heard it can be fairly corrupt and dirty though, which is obviously not in the pictures that people take.
Keep up the awesome blog posts and I look forward to reading more very soon.

Kia Ora Vallanico,
ReplyDeleteWow that’s a very beautiful cathedral that you have picked. I have never been outside of New Zealand, so sometimes I struggle to comprehend that other countries have been colonised for hundreds of years. This cathedral was built almost 900 years ago!! I’m sure the people of Paris will keep it in beautiful condition for many more years to come.
You have been doing some great work, keep it up.
Did you know you can also get extra points for replying to our comments and for commenting on other Summer Learning Journey bloggers, blogs?

Hi Vallancio
ReplyDeleteIt was good to catch up with you today.
I've had a look at the site, but I'm not registered like you are, so I can't see all of it.
Dani has mentioned commenting on other people's blogs. Maybe you could reply to her comment and ask her for help in how to do this?

That last bit was supposed to say Have fun trying it out. I did a bad job checking my spelling!
